Melena Postolowski, LMFT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 13 years of counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and families with a focus on helping clients transition through major milestones of adulthood such as relationship changes, navigating parenthood, and professional development. My work settings have ranged from treating clients in private practice, working for community counseling centers and non-profits, and counseling young professionals at several of the nation's prominent private universities such as University of Denver, The University of Tampa, and Stetson University.
My approach to counseling is a balance between getting to know you and your history, while also presenting solution-focused sessions to help you make progress towards your goals. I believe in the importance of context and focus on strengths and barriers in people's lives, major life events that have influenced current functioning and learned cycles of behavior: we are all a product of our experiences.
Originally from Colorado, I moved to Florida in 2014 pursuing warmer weather and beaches. My husband and I have two beautiful and very active toddlers, leaving us familiar with the hustle of parenting as a dual-career couple. We believe in the importance of respectful parenting that focuses on attachment and connection, and I incorporate these concepts into my sessions.
Together we might...
